You are never alone on the start line. No one is an island, especially not a triathlete. It may seem that triathlon is an individual sport, but in reality high performance sports is always a team effort.
I am very grateful for having this amazing group of talented and passionate individuals and companies around me sharing the journey towards my dreams. Shared joy is the greatest. It is also much easier to tackle challenges by teamwork.

Coaches (Mentors)

Coach is the single most important person in any given athletes life. In sports as well as in cooking it is pretty easy to make good results if you have the right recipe and you are willing to work according to it.

For the first 18 years of my triathlon career I worked together with a Finnish coach Paul Sjöholm. Paul made me the fifth strongest women on the iron distance. I can not think about a better person to guide a younger triathlete. From 2016 until 2019 I have had the honor to work with one of the most successful coaches in triathlon world - American Siri Lindley. In addition that Siri has coached several world champions she has been the world number one herself. It was amazing to make dreams come true together with Siri.

From the beginning of 2019 I am learning to coach myself with the help of mentors; David Tilbury-Davis and Paul Sjöholm.

The English verb "manage" comes from the Italian maneggiare (to handle, especially tools or a horse), which derives from the two Latin words manus (hand) and agere (to act). Today more known in the administrative context.

Soigneur is a person who gives training, massage, and other assistance to a team, especially during a race. Commonly used in cycling.

Mechanic is a skilled worker who repairs and maintains vehicle engines and other machinery.

When you merge these three roles into one individual you get my Jeeves.

Physiotherapy / Strength / Technical

Physical therapists and strength coaches have rescued my career more than once. Different rehabilitation routines and strength exercises are included to my daily schedule. These enable my body to endure the training load that is required for triathlon. Strong body is also essential for optimal performance.

Sport can create hope where once there was only despair.” The words by the first Patron of Laureus, Nelson Mandela inspired Laureus Sport for Good on a mission to help young people overcome the limitations imposed by challenging social issues including juvenile crime, gangs, gun and knife violence, HIV/AIDS, discrimination, social exclusion, landmines awareness and health problems like obesity.

As Laureus Ambassador and a member of Team Sport For Good I am honoured to do my very best to support this mission. I consider this as the most important goal of my sporting career and hope to be able to give back good since the sport has already given me more than I ever could  have hoped for.
